Bag of Tricks Vol. 82: Trickster God Worship Buff

Welcome to the latest installment of our Bag of Tricks! On some days you will find useful tricks, gimmicks and ideas here that can make life in Neverwinter Online easier. Some of the stuff should be well known, but since even veterans learn something new every now and then, chance is you can, too.

In the current “Lost City of Omu” campaign there’s a sneaky little trick to get a substantial amount of bonus currency for just slaying mobs in the adventure zone. You probably already know that empowering the shrines in Undercity not only is part of the daily quest rotation, but can also summon the Heroic Event “Wrath of Acererak”. There is however another additional purpose those shrines serve.

If players fully empower a shrine or offer a Trickster Talisman to one that is already empowered, they will get a temporary buff called “Trickster Gods Worship”. It lasts 30 minutes and gives mobs a chance do drop Lost Idols and Omuan Treasures. The “rare” chance stated in the tooltip is actually not that rare. Doing dailies in the zone while under the effect of the buff can net you up to 30-40 Idols.

This is why getting the buff to fill your Weekly Haul is absolutely recommended. Even if there are no currently empowered shrines, you should have enough talismans to do it yourself. Otherwise you of course can also try to get your instance or guild to work together. Getting the extra Idols is really nice especially since it’s essentially a free bonus while doing the dailies anyway.
