Bag of Tricks Vol. 42: Suicide Shortcut (Killme) and other Keybinds

Bog of Tricks Logo

Welcome to the latest installment of our Bag of Tricks! On some days you will find useful tricks, gimmicks and ideas here that can make life in Neverwinter Online easier. Some of the stuff should be well known, but since even veterans learn something new every now and then, chance is you can, too.

Keybinds are a popular topic in our Bag of Tricks series as we’ve covered some usefull stuff regarding queue groups in Vol. 29. Today we want to continue by resurrecting a lost console command. “/killme” was a well-known shortcut to the GM Help -> Stuck -> Defeat Me menu option, but was removed at some point. Killing oneself not only comes in handy when actually being stuck, but also to move to the next closest campfire faster. Treasure Hunters in the Sea of Moving Ice can farm charts quicker by not having to travel all the way, provided they have injury immunity and a campfire is actually between their current location and the next treasure. User Janne has posted the ui command on our message board and we gladly pass that one along.

/bind key “gensendmessage Stuck_Defeatme activate”
/alias killme “gensendmessage Stuck_Defeatme activate”Janne

VIP and Companions

The fight with the Dragon Turtle in FBI partially is annoying because your companions can die. But here’s help in the form of a keybind to get them back. This command apparently also works in combat (no it does not).

/bind f5 “GenSendMessage Pets_Summon_Unsummon_Button Activate”whistlingdixie

VIP binds might already be well known, but we repost them because it fits the topic. You can of course edit the assigned keys as you like.

/bind F3 gensendMessage Vipaction_Overworldmapteleport activate
/bind F4 gensendMessage Vipaction_Mailbox activate
/bind F5 gensendMessage Vipaction_Salvager activate
/bind F6 gensendMessage Vipaction_Bankvendor activate
/bind F7 gensendMessage Vipaction_Professionvendor activate
/bind F8 gensendMessage Vipaction_Moonstonemaskteleport activateCasual_Notgamer

Is it confirmed that the keybind to summon your companion when in battle really workd ? Would be awesome on SVA where you are in battle without any interruption, and companion can die if you get stuck on an ice block.
Gonna try it tonight in any case, thanks for the trick !

Tried the keybind to summon companion in combat. To my dismay, it doesn’t. Still it’s a useful keybind as a shortcut.
