Bag of Tricks Vol. 72: Hero’s Accord vs Other Activities

Bog of Tricks Logo

Welcome to the latest installment of our Bag of Tricks! On some days you will find useful tricks, gimmicks and ideas here that can make life in Neverwinter Online easier. Some of the stuff should be well known, but since even veterans learn something new every now and then, chance is you can, too.

Since we have been evaluating random queues this week with extensive articles on its flaws and possible fixes, we continue to look into aspects that don’t make too much sense in this Bag of Tricks. In the mentioned posts we’ve already said that you should stay away from Hero’s Accord queue. It simply lacks rewards to make it viable.

2,500 RP in 10-15 minutes?

The math here is pretty simple. Unless you really value the 20 extra seals, the question is whether you can farm 2,500 RP more efficiently doing other stuff. Tomb of the Nine Gods within a random queue setup should take the average team 10-15 minutes longer than usual because they are forced into a less ideal setup. So if you can farm the RP in the same time doing other stuff, you’re better off queuing into T9G using the normal queue.

And well as you might have guessed, it’s possible. 2,500 RP is 50 Peridots or green level 70 equipment. Probably any alt with Wanderer’s Fortune off cooldown can already get to that mark by doing the daily Stronghold Heroics. And it get’s even worse for Hero’s Accord when you spend the time in Sharandar. Accumulating quests and completing one of the three areas each day will eventually net a Fey Blessing Enchantment, Rank 8 per day. That’s 2,500 RP as well, simply by completing dailies. Granted, the gem costs 5,000 AD, but you can sell it for at least twice as much and buy back enough Peridots to get your 2,500 RP for free.

Or what about just queuing for a normal dungeon random queue on an alt? That nets 9k AD, or roughly 5,000 RP, as mentioned by Putz on our message board.

Hero’s Accord Rarely Makes Sense

That’s why Hero’s Accord rarely makes sense. If you don’t have alts to run through, can’t get an ideal setup for T9G anyway, and absolutely want to run that particular dungeon, there might still be a reason to pick Hero’s Accord. But unless you meet this very rare set of circumstances, just farm Fey Blessings in Sharandar for example. You are much likely better off then spending time in the random queue.
