Double Glory Event Guide

The Double Glory (or 2x Glory) is part of the weekend schedule that usually sees a rotating casts of different Double Events from Thursdays to Mondays. In this guide we’ll go over the areas and activities that are affected by the boost, and how you can profit from it the most.

Fancy a PVP Game?

With the Double Glory event it’s fairly easy. Glory is your PVP currency, so queuing up for a PVP match generally is a good idea. All Glory you’ll earn after a Domination, Gauntlgrym, or Stronghold PVP match will get doubled. Caches like the Badge of Glory will also hand out twice the rewards. But that’s basically where the good news end. Currently I can’t really recommend “farming” PVP because you’ll most likely have a miserable time.

First of all the queue can take a while, because the game mode lacks players. Currently it seems to be only filled with either overpowered veterans or clueless pugs (possibly farming Double Glory?). Most matches end prematurely because of lopsided teams. Players start camping, or even just quit. Since you need to win to get decent Glory rewards, it can get frustrating rather fast.

Even if you get a couple decent (or at least quick) matches in, there’s not a lot of good items you can buy for Glory right now. In case you’re actually into PVP, there’s the “Strategist” set that scales to item level 510 in PVP content. Ravenloft however made these item levels available in PVE content as well so you no longer absolutely need Strategist to build your PVP toon. Speaking of PVE, there’s pretty much only one item worth buying for Glory: The Bloodcrystal Raven Skull. It’s part of a Ravenloft Artifact set and can only be obtained through the Trade of Blades vendors. After that, doing PVP is just a very inefficient way to spend your time based on the rewards you can grab.

The Double Glory event is easily the worst one of the Double Weekends. PVP is a mess right now and even if you’re able to get into a couple matches, there’s really not a lot of stuff you can even buy for Glory. So the current advise is to stay away unless you really want something from the Trade of Blades vendors.

I think you could have made this post much more positive than the way it is written. There are a number of reasons this event is helpful. If your guild needs glory this is probably the fastest way to get it. There are also 180 IL points available from PvP that are much more difficult to get outside of these events. There are at least three additional artifacts you did not mention that may help your build. If you are a completionist, it is very difficult to finish the PvP campaign outside this event. The most difficult item to get in the game is also challenging to get outside of this event. Generally, wait times for PvP are way shorter during this event, sometimes instantaneous. This event can be very helpful for many, but the negative way this is written, it may distract people from playing the event which makes it more difficult for those that are planning on doing it. But I believe you’re right when you say that you can earn more rewards (AD) doing other events, but not everything in the game can be gotten from AD.

I appreciate your articles, but there are a lot of positive things about this event being left out of this blog which makes it quite misleading. During this event, PvP queues are much quicker, sometimes even instantaneous. Since this is one of the only times you can reliably queue all three PvP events, you can get items here that you can’t get anywhere else in the game. For example, there are 180 Item Level points that can only be gained in PvP, there are many unique artifacts that can be useful for some builds, many Guilds still need glory, the glory also gives you guild marks, the most difficult item in the game is only obtained in PvP, and completionists may want to finish out the PvP campaign. True, you may not make a lot of AD in this event, but there are many worthwhile things to accomplish in PvP that cannot be bought with AD.
