Exploit History Vol. 6: Full Guardian Fighter Runs

Exploit History Banner

Last time in Exploit History we went all the way back to Module 1: Fury of the Feywild. This episode also comes from the earlier stages of the game, more precisely from the open beta in 2013.

The culprit were two powers that are still very popular today: The Knight Captain’s set bonus and Into the Fray. Players realized that both the set bonus and Into the Fray could be stacked by multiple GFs in one party. It’s comparable with how DCs found out about the Weapons of Light stacking. What started as a fun experiment suddenly turned into a viable setup to stomp content.

Back then GFs were a class that could get to high power levels and actually DPS builds for PVE were viable. So multiplying that with five KC sets and the AP gain of ITF, which didn’t feature the damage boost of today though, and you know why suddenly troops of five GFs knocked onto the door of Castle Never.

The reign of the GFs didn’t lasts too long however as the issue was patched in early June 2013.

There was also that combo that let GFs one shot bosses. Don’t remember which one it was exactly, but it would be cool to have a post on this one day.
