First Patch on Preview Reveals Lost City of Omu Features and Additions

As promised earlier this week with the announcement of Neverwinter’s “Lost City of Omu”, the devs updated the preview server last night with a first build of the module, giving us a first solid look at features and additions. As always threads in the preview section of the Arcgames message board were created so players can give their feedback. Please note that due to Martin Luther King Day, the devs might not comment on these before Tuesday.

Gear Heavy Module Again

As expected players can explore the Lost City of Omu as new adventure zone. It comes with new Hunts and a campaign extension that leads to the “Cradle of the Death God” trial and concludes the Chult story line. There are also some nice quality of life improvements included. Leveling has been smoothed, Fashion items can now be stored in their own bag, and loadouts fully include Companions and Mounts.

Other than that, the module seems to be gear heavy again. There are new “bis” weapons sets, new artifact sets and gear going as high as item level 510. The new Hunts drop some really interesting pieces and Masterwork Professions will receive new recipes as well. A lot of screenshots of the new stuff were posted to our Discord yesterday and you can look up this collection of interesting stuff by frozenfire as well.

We’ll cover all of the additions in depth in the coming weeks. In the meantime make sure to hop onto preview, test the features and give your feedback!

I like the fashion bag. But I hear that some DC powers have been nerfed as well.

And it would be nice to see some more crafting recipes that do not require Guild Hall Rank 20. Like those Company neck pieces: one is ideal for an HR (DEX+WIS), but I can’t really see how STR+INT would benefit many classes. Updating profession crafting between rank 20 and 25 would be nice. It’s always been that by the time you can make the better gear, better quality stuff is dropping anyway.

    ANNOUNCED
The fashion bag space limit of for 24 measly items IS SHAMEFUL for all players that have already hard earned/paid one or more runic bags (36 items not 24!). As they will make us PAY 12 more item for 250 ZEN each?

    IF DEPLOYED AS IS
It WILL NOT cost me 1500 ZEN, as I’ll RIP this more-and-more-simple-minded-farming game and wait for next-gen decent and challenging ones.

Yes, at first I was pleased, but not after reading the forum thread.

The Fashion Wardrobe should be 48 slots and 12 new slots should be 100 Zen. Also, migrating fashion gear to the Wardrobe should be manually done by the player, not automatic. Then we can choose to put some in the bank instead of having our overload bag blocked.

The only thing you can do is go to the official forum and very politely point out that you think that this is exceptionally unfair to people who already have more than 24 fashion items and bought a 36-Slot Runic Bag just to hold your fashion gear. A 24-slot Wardrobe is far too small and forcing the fashion items to auto-fill a 24 slot “bag” will automatically block your overload bag and prevent you playing the game unless you spend Zen on more slots, or possibly discard the items you want to keep because the wardrobe was auto-filled. It is not right that such a player will have no input into what goes into the wardrobe.

To proceed with the 24-slot Fashion Wardrobe as-is will damage Cryptic and Perfect World’s reputation as a decent, honest business partnership. At the very least, such players should be given the Zen for the extra slots. Support might do this if you have a good relationship with them and file a ticket that you cannot play as you Fashion Wardrobe has filled your overload slots. There is no reason you should be coerced into spending money on Zen to fix an issue knowingly and deliberately created by the programmers.

If you vent your spleen in anger, or threaten to quit, they will ignore you and the moronorators will probably edit or move your post to the depths. Because they really do not care.

I think they based it on the Companion stable, which is only 24 slots IIRC. There are many people with dozens of Companions, but there’s always been a Companion Stable and no one was ever prohibited from playing because their companions filled their Overload Bag.

Oddly, it seems that the number of mounts in the Mount Stable are unlimited. Also, Insignia do not cost gold to unslot, unlike Companion Runes. It seems that many parts of the game need updating.
