Neverwinter announced a new “Refer-a-Friend” program last week that unlocks unique rewards for both recruits and recruiters. The system works like similar ones in that new players have to register through a unique referral link and rewards will be handed out once the recruit got to a certain character level. You can look up all attached rewards and retrieve your referral link on the official page of the program.

Now this seems to be fairly simple, but is it also worth it? In this article I’ll get through all aspects and rewards in order to find an answer. Should you seek an invite link as new player, and refer recruits as veteran? Let’s find out!
The official pages describes the requirements fairly accurate. As veteran player you have to have a character above level 10 to be able to refer someone. As new player, you can’t have any character above level 10 to be referred. Once the recruit reaches level 20, both players receive rewards. Unfortunately the page gives the impression that recruits get the “Heirloom Pack” already at level 5, which doesn’t seem to be the case. All rewards are handed out at level 20 and this also does not happen immediately. Instead, both players receive an e-mail once the rewards are ready. Also note that recruits can only accept one invite and recruiters are limited to a certain number of rewards.
Should Veterans Look into It?
With that out of the way, let’s look into the viability of the program for veteran players. You of course get a unique mount skin and title in the Worthy Recruiter’s Pack, which might already be enough for some collectors to at least get the reward once. The Carmine Bulette can hold the Artificer’s Persuasion, Magistrate’s Patience, and Victim’s Preservation Insignia Bonuses. The “refinement pack” mentioned in the program’s description is a Blood Ruby by the way. All rewards bind to account.
This probably makes the novelties the best part of the package. The Neverwinter Vanguard Pack is not really appealing for veterans and the RPs no game-changer either. However, it can’t hurt to get this and I would definitely at least get one referral in for the mount. What you can obviously do is just register a new account, refer yourself, and get to level 20.
Should New Players Aim for a Referral?
In terms of new players I do believe that it’s a nice package. The “Heirloom Pack” pack that dishes out new level appropriate weapons, rings, and underwear every five levels is already a massive convenience boost while leveling up. Weapons that directly scale with your level can be quite expensive for new players and while those are still slightly better, the pack’s stuff is a worthy replacement until level 60. The blue mount at level 20 is really nice as well and new players will also find great use in the Greater Bag of Holding. This is basically a 2,000 – 3,000 ZEN gift that’s thrown at you.
If I was a new player, I would definitely seek an invite link and once at level 20 try to invite another player myself. Because unlike for veterans, the XP bonus in the Neverwinter Vanguard Pack and the Blood Ruby can make a difference early on.
So whether or not the Refer-a-Friend program is enticing to veterans mostly depends on how much you value the unique mount and title. You can however do new players a service and hand out your invite link when asked, because the attached rewards are nice for those that are just starting out. The pack offers great value to recruits while giving recruiters at least something. Overall this makes the Refer-a-Friend a nice program that you should definitely check out!
