Monday’s Bag Of Tricks Vol. 15: Play On The Russian Neverwinter Server

Bag of Tricks Logo

Welcome to the 15th installment of Monday’s Bag of Tricks! On some Mondays you will find useful tricks, gimmicks and ideas here that can make life in Neverwinter Online easier. Some of the stuff should be well known, but since even veterans learn something new every now and then, chance is you can, too.

You might or might not know that the Russian version of the game has its own server and in case you are curious there’s a simple tweak on how to access the server with your existing account, because it’s not geo-blocked.

Open the registry editor in windows, browse to Computer\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Cryptic\Neverwinter,
change “InstallLanguage” to 1049 and start the launcher. It should now open up the Russian interface and start patching the Russian version into the new shard directory “Eecalive” on you local disk.

While this might be of limited use for the international users due to the language barrier (you can’t login with another client language than Russian), it works the other way round as well. Russian players can change the language key to “1033” to access the English servers.

*** UPDATE *** Sometimes the most obvious stuff isn’t that obvious. You can also simply change the language within the launcher to connect to the Russian server. Thanks to our user “FreeFire” for pointing that out.
