Why Isn’t There More Movement on Gear?

I guess everyone has a list of stats that they would like to see more on gear. Maybe because they feel like they can’t min/max in every possible area or because some stats are missing entirely. Try to find Life Steal or Deflect for DPS for example, especially outside PVP gear. You can probably talk about whether it makes sense to have these widely available, but it can’t be questioned that build viability is somewhat limited.

A Vote for More Movement

For me personally, I don’t have too many complaints in this regard, but one stat I’d really like to see more on gear is Movement. It might be an odd choice, but I frequently miss the utility on several occasions. Movement is admittedly not entirely missing. You can get a substantial amount from Dark Enchantments in utility slots and artifacts. But that requires you to rank up stuff for situational use. That’s why I rather spend my marks and wards on other items and would like to see Movement on armor pieces and jewelry. Outside PVP boots the Garb of the Ascended and Ring of the Hunter +4 are probably the only gear that features it.

Why Movement?

Like I said, Movement might be an odd choice. But since we’re not talking significant stuff here, allow me to get a tad more creative. Plus the stat can indeed be useful in many areas. PVP is kind of obvious, because you can use the speed to get to nodes faster. But in PVE there are also certain situations where I’d like to switch to a “movement” layout to accelerate the grind. Take the current double profession event for example, where players farm their Explorer’s Charts for hours. Or the new normal random queues where walking often takes more time than the actual fights. It’s really minor, but that’s exactly the point. Why not give players a little more options then?

A movement set might also be nice for dragonflights/HEs in stronghold because running from corner to corner there is non-trivial.

Why can’t Neverwinter copy World of Warcraft’s capability to exchange a certain stat that you don’t need for another stat that is of real value for your chosen build ie Defense to Hit Points for an OP Tank or Defense to Lifesteal for a Hemlock? Also if they could give us the capability to rearrange our Character List.

Also in DF movement is important to get to those empowerers as they pop up on every side. In all Underdark content movement is important. I slot darks in all my utility slots, unless I’m leveling up or need power points.

“Gladiators Guile” insignia bonus is great for movement. I use it on all my toons.
