Neverwinter Weekender: Double Refining and Stronghold

weekenderlogoThe Neverwinter Weekender is our brand-new weekly column that contains everything you need to know to have some fun along the Sword Coast on the weekends! We’ll inform you guys about the events across all platforms, preview and review them as well as hand out some tips and guides. This is the perfect spot to start off your adventures!

Winter Festival Zenith

While the Winter Festival is still going strong and reached its Zenith, our attention slowly shifts towards other events. There are still some minor tidbits worth sharing. First of all players have reported that while you can claim the daily Gift on low level characters, the Starlight Bags do not start dropping until characters have reached level 30. We’re not sure this is a change to earlier editions, but it’s good to know when planing your Gift parties. You also want to make sure to not schedule your last big exchanges at the last day of the event. In your quest to absolutely max out and get all Gifts traded you might not get the job done in the remaining time.

Speaking of the bags, there was some confusion about different bind types from Parcels. The drops from the Bags are indeed bound to character, the ones from the Parcel are not. There are some examples where you can still get unbound loot from Bags however. The Mounts from the Mysterious Crystal Charger are unbound and the Companions from both the Mysterious Chicken Egg and Twisted Dwarf Scroll Case contain a Lesser Bonding Runestone that can be sold. So even if reselling is what you’re aiming for, it’s still worth to get those Starlight Bags.

Especially if you’re looking to complete your fold of Mounts and Companions, the time is now! The ones that drop from the Gifts are cheap and getting to your five Insignia Bonuses has never been easier.

Stronghold Doubles and Sale

Guilds can celebrate the new year with a massive boost to their Strongholds. Currently characters can claim Double Influence and Double Shards, which makes running the dailies as valuable as it gets. ZEN packs like the Stronghold Chest of Power are also affected by the way and fittingly on a 20% sale. Too bad you can’t plan for the Double Influence like for other events, but since it’s still the worst bottleneck of progression and running for a full week, it should help nonetheless.

Double Refining Bonanza

The Double Refining events always seem to go crazy as the amount of progression you get is just insane. It’s also good tradition that more postings are popping up that ask for the best route to refine items. We still feel that our Cheat Sheet is the most accurate answer to all questions related to refining. It’s the only tool we know that calculates the fastest way using actual ingame prices. But if you like simpler solutions that work with rules of the thumb we gladly redirect you to this spreadsheet or this app or this post. There’s plenty of stuff available, so no excuse for wasting RPs!

We hope you guys will enjoy the weekend with our overview! We hope you’ll welcome 2017 with new Legendaries and Mythics!
