NW.85.20170808a.3 Takes Aim at Split-Ti, PVP Balance

It’s Thursday again and the servers just went down on the Dragon PC shard for the weekly maintenance! There’s a rather large patch coming in and in case you’re not one of those forum dwellers, we’ve got you covered with the changes that are currently being uploaded.

Split-Ti Fixed?

Yesterday we tried to figure out how to not bug the Split-Ti Hunt. Today it already might not matter as the devs made another effort to end the madness. Even if it still does not fix the issue entirely, there’s an additional useful hint in the patch notes how to prevent the bug:

[su_quote]We’ve noticed certain cases in which Split-ti leashes unexpectedly, then ends the encounter.  This can possibly be avoided by destroying the larger-sized enemies before moving on to the smaller-sized ones.[/su_quote]

PVP Balance

The other field of interest this week seems to be PVP. First of all private matches no longer incorrectly grant credit toward Stronghold PVP quests. But more importantly two balancing changes were made to the DC and TR. As already discussed in one of the official Mod12 feedback threads, the devs feel like Astral Shield is too strong in both PVP and PVE. That’s why its duration and potency (PVP only) have been reduced. Additionally Geas no longer ignores control resistance and immunity in Divine mode.

TR in the meantime get a little bit of the damage back that they lost to the piercing changes. The base damage on the Shocking Execution daily power is increased by 25%.

One thing unfortunately was apparently not addressed. The Ring of the Curse Bringer and its currently more than annoying control effect in PVP seems to continue its unpleasant reign. At least its duration is now properly being reduced by control resistances.

Other Stuff

Other notable changes include making Ostorian Rings bind to account. It definitely affects the one in the Seal store, but might even extend to those rewarded in FBI and Svardborg. Players will be able to complete their Fishing collection in Soshenstar River as well as Glowworms now properly allow the player to catch epic fish. There is now a new permission for sorting the items in the Guild Bank and the SW’s Tyrannical Curse daily can no longer incorrectly deal friendly fire damage.

There are a lot of other minor changes, so make sure to browse through the full notes here.

Really you have pvp in complete disarray… unplayable to casual players and decide amongst the massive amounts of bugs in game the conq shards are the most important thing to do. This after lying about helping smaller guilds in previous mod by making it crazy expensive to make temp buildings

You’re complaining in the wrong place. This is a blog commenting on the state of the game, not the game developers. You should probably place your comments on the Neverwinter Forums instead.

Just sad only players that complain about astral seal are the same ones that go premade wanting to gank pugs and solo players then bitch because 4 gankers can not gank the DC . Just look at arc PvP forums and you will see 2 or 3 of the same gankers that must go premade and has to have top kills to boost their ego. Yet really a DC has very little DPS and hardly makes kills so being tanky is the return for low DPS. Then if a DC goes into righteous tree to much then they are squishy as hell so lets take away a little more defense they can get from AS.

i seriously welcome the astral shield changes and i main a dc myself. we shouldn’t be immortal since we aren’t tanks. and we shouldn’t kill a lot since we aren’t dps. of cause you’ll still be hard to kill if you stack defensive stats but class like sw who rely on dots and can’t push you out of your circle of cowardice can’t possibly hurt you if you spam perm astral shield even if they’re completely BiS and you’re not. sadly healadins are still tanky af and tanks deal to much dmg, but that’s a different story.
