Players Cheer as Noworries Confirms Enchantment Visuals Switch for Module 14

Currently it sure seems there’s not a single week without another small hint at Module 14. The latest comes from developer Noworries, who confirmed that you can finally switch off enchantment visuals in the next major update.

[su_quote cite=”noworries” url=”https://forum.arcgames.com/neverwinter/discussion/comment/13026994/#Comment_13026994″]I can’t comment on any of the requests in the original post, but I can say that with M14 players should be able to turn off their own weapon/armor enchant effects. Software added that nice feature in for us.

As with all coming soons, nothing is ever 100% guaranteed.[/su_quote]

Although he put in the usual “not guaranteed” safeguard, it’s very encouraging that the devs are probably able to fill a long-standing community request. While some enchantment visuals look cool (Feytouched), others are flat out annoying (Barkshield) or might at least completely interfere with your dyes or transmutes (Soulforged). Some players even went as far as picking the right enchantment for their character theme because of the fact that you can’t toggle enchantment visuals.

This is not only something that the community wanted, but the devs as well. As mentioned by Noworries however it required some substantial work on the code and was nothing the systems team could do by themselves. So it took some time to pull off. The joy in the thread was accordingly big. Multiple players expressed their relief or flat out cheered. This is indeed a major quality of life improvement to look forward to.

Players are happy because some graphics effects are removed.
    Wait…
    What?
Does NW really goes the same way other MMO do??

I’m wondering: is this whole game a Stockholm Syndrome???

Not removed, but adding the option to deactivate. It’s addition by subtraction because it gives players more freedom in picking a toon’s look.

    About bloody time!

I am fed up of my lovely fashion being ruined by those horrible, smokey and diamond cluster effects! And after I spent so much time on the test server trying different dye packs and fashion sets to find the best look!

Back when I didn’t even have any armour enchants!

You know, on my OPs and GWFs I just changed to Trans Thunderhead and my GFs to Trans Briartwine, just because the enchantment effect was so minimal and did not feck up the way they look!

Now I am getting abuse for using crappy armour enchants! Well, I LIKE reflecting damage, so yah boo, sucks to you!

Now, if they will only let me dye my OP weapons Gold…

    😉

Nice just wonder how many more bugs this change will create. Seems the devs are always wasting time messing thing up
rather than spend the time fixing big issues first.

this sounds similar to the visual deactivation mechanic that Startrek online uses.

Thank the gods! That Vorpal glitter ruins almost every look.

Visuals seem irrelevant to many players, but not to me. I always try to strike a balance between character advancement, gameplay fun and role-playing.
