Some Quick Fixes to the Old Campaign Dailies
The devs made a major upgrade of the campaigns in the Maze Engine and fixed some of the issues I outlined in my series about campaign fixes. But there are still some areas left that could need tweaking. In today’s post I’m going to propose a few quick hot fixes for old campaign dailies to keep them viable.
Even after completing campaigns their dailies remain relevant because they deliver refining points or Stronghold resources. Therefore players include some of them in their daily routine. There are some inconsistencies however that I think are easy to fix by adjusting the rewards those quests hand out.
Dread Ring
Artifacts are easy to level, so the Artifact Bag handed out by the quests will be of little use eventually. You can still stuff the RPs into Enchantments, but that’s not the most efficient way to level them. Hence I’d make them bound to account to be able to farm RPs for alternative characters. Thy could also grant 50 Points to the Gem Coffer in Strongholds, which would match what Discarded Equipment gives in Surplus.
Tyranny of Dragons
The campaign is still missing that little extra from dailies. Like I said in my campaign fixes, I’d like to see Resonance Stones added to the them. Doesn’t need to be unbound, but even that would be justified given it’s one of the more challenging zones. And please kill the randomness of the quests handed out. Put them on a rotation like Dread Ring so that you are able to clear the zone at least once per week.
Icewind Dale
The quests used to be one source of Black Ice, but since that’s no longer a factor they have outlived their usefulness. The dailies additionally have always been too long for their rewards anyway. They spread over two big maps with high mob levels and are not as easy to stack because you need to fetch them from both factions. I’d simply double the rewards, both campaign currency and Black Ice, to make grinding the campaign a little bit more feasible. Also make Black Ice a Frozen Treasures Coffer currency. Currently, unless your guild really needs it for progression, I’d skip the zones with the exception of Biggrin once per week.
Storm Kings Thunder
It’s early fellas, but I already don’t like that the dailies only grant 50 Voninblod. That’s not going to cut it and should be tripled. Longterm the quests will run into the same issue as Icewind Dale. At the point where Voninblod will no longer be viable or needed, the dailies instantly will become useless. And that’s especially bad because three full adventure zones are attached to them. Talking about wasted assets. After Dwarven Valley and Icewind Pass we do not need more abandoned areas.
Maze Engine
The quest is fine currently, but some travel times have to be lowered. If you don’t own at least an epic mount, the ride to some overworld quests is just brutal. Mount Hotenow and Icespire Peak come to mind, but Pirates’ Skyhold is also pretty annoying. The easiest way would be to relocate the encounters, but you could also add some kind of portal that brings you back to the first campfire of the zone.
I’m glad they reverted the changes of Mod 10, which would have doubled the needed time to complete the daily.
Elemental Evil
The quests from the new Elemental Evil campaign can’t be stacked and the reward is a joke. The Cult Cache has to be brought in line with the Gauntlgrym Bounty and should include a Mote of your choice as additional option. After campaign completions I’d also put the storyline quests on a weekly rotation like Dread Ring and make them reward Cult Orders.

Sharandar needs to be made significantly less grindy, especially the third zone and the top two boons, they are ridiculous in cost of swords and sparks.
