Reports Claim Hunt Exploit Is Very Much Active and Bans Are Still Happening

We can probably agree that Huntgate did enough damage to the game and that we’re so ready to move on, right? Unfortunately it looks like the whole mess might extend into New Year. There are solid indications that the exploit is still very much active. Ever since the initial wave of bans players send isolated reports claiming that the devs never fully fixed the glitch. Now we’re convinced enough to report that this is indeed the case.

The Bug Was Never Fully Fixed

[sc name=”discord”]

Our assumption is that the devs never got rid of the actual issue of targets getting stuck and Tarokka Cards not getting properly consumed. They only prevented players to use kill commands to enter the hunt zone prematurely. This obviously means that the glitch is indeed very much alive if somebody still figures out how to get in. And if some reports we received are true, there are still ways to do so. Now this won’t probably blow up like last time, but it’s worth mentioning that despite all the publicity it generated, the glitch is still not fixed.

More than that, PWE does apparently actively monitor activities and continues to ban players that use the glitch. Now we can start the whole discussion of who’s to blame again, but at the moment you definitely don’t want to get in touch with exploited Hunts at all. Because your first infraction might be your last. Of course it would be best if that goddamn exploit wouldn’t be possible any longer, you know? But at this point it would surprise us if it’ll happen before the holidays.

No Protection from the Game

Of course, most that currently still try the exploit probably do it fraudulently. But as long as the game pretends the situation is resolved when it’s clearly not, you can’t rule out innocents getting caught up in Huntgate. That’s why we think that players are aware of the situation. If you feel that someone in your hunt group only tries to do something suspicious, considers leaving the group immediately. You don’t want to complete a bugged Hunt or you risk a ban!

Cyrptic is horrible with its coding. My group of friends never ran the glitched hunts. We did however noticed that there were times after our hunt run that we would not use a card. The player that placed his card down the most got a 3 day ban and the rest of us got a 1 day ban. We all did not glitch, we simply had fun playing the hunts with the challenges the cards offer. Since the ban, none of us have run hunts simply because we don’t want to get a perm ban for playing the game as intended. Customer Support was useless and innocent players got caught in the crossfire all due to bad programming by Cryptic.

All my friends stop spending on this game and most have moved onto other games due to Cryptic not owning up to their mistakes. Innocent players got ban due to their bad code and allowed many players to exploit it and earn millions of AD on alternate accounts for their main account. Kinda sad really that the devs don’t look at the transctions between players in the game just as email, etc…than use this to ban or remove items gained through glitching.

Since we talking about coding, what about FBI…that dungeon has been glitched by players since day 1 and still is today.

Still glitched? Seriously? … Fucking stupid game.
They should probably hold off on any new mods until this crappy code is debugged or reworked. … Stop selling customers half-asses product.

With what a f*cking mess it made they still let it live? I’m not sur if I should laught, cry or ask them to change planet before they make us explode?

Just done some Hunts recently, I hope I didn’t glitched it? Especially cuz I was lucky with RNG for once (after more than 15 runs…).

My wife and I periodically run hunts. When salvage was still a thing, we used cards. We never had our cards fail to be consumed. Now that salvage is no longer a thing, we no longer use cards because we’re only after the drops from the target and we don’t care about drops from cards. I suppose it helps that we don’t enjoy Barovia all that much and so we don’t have a gigantic surplus of cards, anyway. We also tend to just run the hunts as a pair, rather than including anyone else in the group. So we’re able to get through six to eight hunts at a time before boredom overwhelms us and we go find something else to do. I’m not much worried about “accidentally” getting banned for “accidentally” glitching the hunt.

I have never even done any hunts at all, ever. Reading this has put me in a bad mood.

My new GF IV (which does not have Steel Grace like my SM) was chatting with another GF yesterday who had Boots with more than 3000 Movement on them. He said he got them from Barovia Hunts. So I thought I would start doing some this week after my AI weeklies are done.

Fuck it. And fuck you, Craptrick, you dishonest, deceitful, deliberately misleading bunch of incompetent little turds. You would ban ME, after almost five years of legit play and generous funding, just because I get into a hunt and someone else cheats? When you claim to have fixed it but you have not?

    Fuck you.

    😡

And what about female character skirts on mounts? Your Patch Notes claimed months and months ago that it was fixed, but it’s not. Not at all.

Fuck you, you lying sacks of rancid filth.

Cash flow from me has now ceased. Permanently. I am sick of paying for Necrocystitis’ weekly 3 tons of jam doughnuts and 4 tonnes of triple cheese pizza. I see no Community Management, much less actual interaction and liaison.

    😡

I feel you you. Cryptic said they fixed things but most things ain’t fixed. They claimed Barovia hunt was fixed, but it was never fixed. They just fix the hunt zone prematurely, and people are still able to do it. They claimed that “Weapons created by professions can now properly be used to transmute other weapons,” no we still can’t. There are so many things wrong in the game still but I can’t remember because of how frustrated this topic caused. I would never recommend this game to friends, even to people that I don’t like :/

“I would never recommend this game to friends, even to people that I don’t like “

        ROFLMAO!! Ain’t it the truth?

I can do all my AI weeklies on 3 characters in an evening, then do the daily Basement for max acorns over the next few days, 5 minutes every hour. But now I am extremely hesitant to get into Barovia Hunts because of this.

I keep telling myself, keep calm, never post an angry rant, remember how street epistemology works, look at potholer54’s style on YouTube. But then something like this comes up and my keyboard flashes sparks and the air around my monitor turns blue!

I’ve calmed down a bit now, but I despise dishonesty above all other things. I’d prefer thieves to liars. And, at times, Craptrick are both.

        🙂

Well, there has to be something that players are doing that causes this, even if some of the players are not doing it intentionally. I run hunts with my wife when we feel like it, and we’ve done it both with cards and without. We have never once had a glitched hunt – and we’ve been doing them since July when it came out on PC. So if you want to run hunts, you should do it and not be concerned.

Also, the boost you’re looking for are the Executioner’s Pigaches. These can be obtained from the Ravenloft campaign store by buying the Salvaged Gear Pack. That pack gives you a random item and so it will probably take you a while to get what you want from it. However, I did get these boots on my Warlock and it’s nice to run around with over 8k movement bonus.

Cheers, nunya. But I think Pigaches is some weird name for SW boots. The ones I need for a GF might be Greaves or Sabatons or something equally daft!

You’re probably right about the “pigaches” word. Nonetheless, at least now you know which set the boots you want come from.

I absolutely respect and love this comment. I’m on console but I’ve taken your advice on build guide comment sections for ages. I’m sick to death of Jewels too.

I left this message to the customer support (and the message box after I uninstall the game, not sure what it’s called, uninstall feedback?) to express my opinions. I am one that uses the exploit so everyone can just disregard, up to you. Those that choose to read, I hope you guys don’t feel the same way I do. To everyone that wonders, I sent a separate message to customer support as an apology. This is only my opinions about the game.

Well, thank you for your time. This will probably be my last comment to the devs and to the game. I hope this will help the game improve. Honestly I have no clue where to start. I am still very much in love with the game and I still have emotions with my characters and the people I found during this gaming journey. However, I think I’ve had enough. Yes, I have exploited the game but that doesn’t mean I don’t have any opinions about exploits in the game. To begin, almost everything is buggy (I don’t wanna list everything from CR here). Two years, people abused the glitch of being able to see through chests to see if they should spend the keys on those chests. Then since forever that the last boss in FBI glitch, Cryptic/Perfect World did nothing to fix it. Maybe people were doing it without breaking anything in the game, that makes it okay? Now with Barovia exploit, I have strong opinions about it despite the fact that I abused it. For months that the Barovia hunt glitch existed, development teams did nothing to fix it. It shouldn’t even be able to make it past preview server, let alone live server on PC. Now I wonder, how on Earth did you guy let it go on live server on console? It was so apparent to people that everyone thought it was a “feature,” like how REQ tong only queue turned out to be. With these issues happening inside your game, you did nothing to fix it until nwo-uncensored posted on their website about the issues. My best analogy that I can come up with is that there are crimes but police won’t do anything until the crimes get published on newspaper and on the internet. When you are awared of the problems, most people were hit from 1 day ban to permanent. I didn’t get ban exactly at that time, but now. I can notice that less people were on after the huntgate ban. Seeing where this game is heading, it hurts me a lot. It hurts also because I invested a lot of time, effort and emotions into my characters. There are a lot of fixes needed to be done on certain classes still and it seems that the dev team doesn’t care either. On the classes changes mod 15 forums, there is no comment coming from the devs despite how much players wanted the devs to know their opinions. Mod 15 campaign is also a discouragement because it brings absolutely no entertainment to end game players, to dedicated old Neverwinter player base. Everything becomes a mindless repetitive day to day play. This repetitive nature of the game makes the game less enjoyable to play. It seems like the game wants more new gamers, while old gamers are left to grind old contents over and over. This is how I felt for weeks, and seeing most of my friends left the game made me realize that I wasn’t the only one feeling this way. Despite what the game is heading, I am still in love with Neverwinter. With this being said, it’s very painful to move on because my characters that I devoted so much into are under permanent ban by a glitch that shouldn’t make it to live server. Currently I am still in disbelief that this just happened to me, I really hope this long text doesn’t offend anyone but to bring the best benefits to improve the game. Most of my friends quit and I think it’s time for me to move on and play another game, a game that has support from devs and fixing glitches/bugs right away, or at least disable right away the bug area/characters like League of Legends. I won’t be back into the game anymore. Hope you have a good day and the game becomes better in the future modules. This is my farewell to the game and everything else I’ve encountered because of the game.

I’m a console player and agree with what you mostly wrote. I thought about using the glitch hunt but decided against it and a day or two later after I heard about what exactly the glitch hunt entailed the devs posted on the forums that corrective action will be taken, so I never bothered with glitching any hunts.

As for the game and mod 15; the content seems mostly designed for mid-tierplayers and the bans that Cryptic has done over the past year or so has impacted mostly end game players. This update seems like a good way to move mid-game player IL up towards end game players il.

Since the only piece of valid gear for any BiS character is the gallant head for a DPS and that is the one piece of gear I need for my CW. I won’t be playing much during mod 15. I barely even log into the game as it is now.

As someone who just collects his keys and does 2 dailies in Omu and Chult on 3 characters my time on NWO is roughly 30 minutes a day for praying and collecting my keys 6 days a week and one day a week I do roughly 2-3 hours for the weeklies I complete for Chult.

Because I’m rarely on NWO now I have been playing ESO. What a game that is! It is leaps and bounds better; you have options on how to build your character, the stories are so much better, combat requires more out of you, etc… everything overall is a better experience. The only gripes I have is that combat at times on ESO feel clunky.

As someone who use to play ESO at launch on console and has played NWO since launch on PS4, I will state this and that is ESO has gone through major updates and changes and from my experience now compared to 2015, the changes have all been for the better for the game and they seem focus not only on new content but also fixing old bugs. NWO updates have been ok but nothing to really done to truly fix old bugs in the game; some bugs from launch on PS4 are still present and yet the devs don’t fix it. Instead NWO is all about new content and pushing new zen items or encouraging more key purchases for new LBs. The game is ok overall but could be so much better if the devs actually took the time and fixed the old bugs and stop releasing content that is glitched/bugged and than punishing us as players because they released bugged content.

Speaking of bugs, when will Cryptic refund its players for all of the extra scrolls used during CR due to the bugs in that dungeon? If you are wondering when they will, they won’t. The cost of using extra life scrolls in a dungeon is not a concern given that it did not have a negative impact to Cryptic’s revenues whereas the hunts did. How’s that for customer service and taking care of your long time customers? How’s that for ensure your customers want to continue using you service? These are a few reasons why many long time players left the game.

I witnessed this happen while running hunts… its stupid that the devs cant patch something so they resort to banning. The saddest part is that its the almost the EXACT SAME METHOD.

OMG!!! On december 13. I’ve got mail where they let me know that I’m a perma banned, because of “evidence of botting”. I dont know what they could spot as “botting”, coz I did not used any unregular software or such a thing. The only thing that came to mi mind is high playing time, for maybe 10h in some days. I wrote to CS to ask why exactly im permabaned (it was my very first “violation”, I’ve never been suspended before), but they didn’t gave my answer, just said “We confirm the infraction”..?? What kind of infraction?? Now I’m reading this, and I remember that i was in cca 10 hunts, alone, just 2-3 days before got banned. I used 1 low card everytime, just because i had them. I thought that “hunt thing” was over? Could this be reason? I’m confused. I didn’t do anything wrong, atleast I’m not aware of it???

That’s very unfortunate Alek. I would get back to customer service and ask them for their evidence and for a senior staff to investigate your account as there has been a mistake somewhere. Remain very calm and polite, but don’t suggest anything like “was it this or was it that”, as you are just giving them ammunition to use against you.

Just tell them that you have never used any botting programs and have never knowingly participated in a known exploit and ask them what they are referring to and can you see their game log information. If you have spent cash on Zen, get all your payments form Arc and make a table to show them you are a genuine, legit, paying customer and expect reasonable customer service and want a senior manager to investigate.

Others have suggested they got banned for high playing times, but in the past I have played for 18 hours or more when I am stricken with insomnia. But an account that is running round professions nodes for 36 hours back when we could get enchants etc, is clear evidence of botting. Sadly, they tend to ban first, based on algorithms, and we all know how crap their coding is.

But this just reinforces my feeling that I should avoid Hunts for those fast boots for my DB GF IV.

      😡

Thank you, hun. Well, since I haven’t spent real $ in game (just my blood, tears and sweat), I have impression that CS don’t even really reed my complaints. I’m accused for botting, but seems that I getting responded in a bot manner. I am disappointed to the extent that I am uninstalled game. I think that five years of playing does deserve a little more humanity in communication than 2-3 general sentences. It is disrespectful, underestimating and derogating. I felt like a trash.
