Thanksgiving Patch NW.90.20171107g.2 Nerfs Chult Rings, Enhances Guild Logs

Because of the holidays we’re having an early patch day today! Both PC and consoles will come down for maintenance, with PC actually getting a decently sized update. We’ll quickly go over the changes and add some context in this article. The full list of patch notes are available here.

Chult Rings No Longer Transfer Procs to Companions

The biggest gameplay related change comes to the Chult Rings. These so far were able to transfer their procs to companions, making them a viable choice for Bonding companions with ring slots. That’s no longer the case as the rings get adjusted to work like other jewelry. Generally procs are not supposed to transfer their stats to companions, the Underdark rings were changed at some point as well for example. So this is technically a fix and not a nerf. Some of you might still want to adjust their gear in case you were relying on Chult Rings on companions.

Enhanced Guild Logs

A more welcomed change are probably the enhanced guild logs. Leaders and members can now download detailed logs to manage their guilds. Especially the donation log with player handles should help leaders on a daily basis. If you wanted to track donations so far you needed to manually set up a sheet and input the data. The new log allows to automate the process with an intelligent parser. We’ve talked to some folks and there’s a good chance a tool to help with guild management will be available to the public soon. If not, we’ll step in and add something to our Toolbase.

There are a few other nice fixes included. First of all alts can now properly be added to the guild if it is at max players, but not max characters. This was a pesky bug for guilds operating at the account maximum. You could effectively only invite 149 players, because the 150th would break inviting any alt characters.

Additionally players consistently receive loot from the final TONG boss if they die during a successful attempt and there’s now an option under HUD settings to show low-level contact indicators. This might sound like a weird one, but outleveling zones meant that you were no longer able to see the quest indicators over NPCs. You could still pick them up, but it was very hard to follow an old quest line without this essential help. So if that’s your thing, you can now go back to the lower level areas and complete leftover duties.

Static stats are still there, some rings had +1000 something under certain conditions, sadly that wont proc anymore.

Was kinda nice to counter the bonding nerf a little with those, but nope, not WaI…
