Unblogged Wisdom Checks: What’s the Next Major Feature You’d like to See in the Game?

Module 15 just launched on PC and isn’t even live on consoles yet. But it’s never wrong to look a little bit ahead and think about possible upcoming features. When talking module additions there are the things that seem to be a given. There’s always a campaign, some sort of group content, quality-of-life improvements, extensions of existing systems, and a new lockbox. But occasionally you also have a major new feature, like Workshops, the Mount system, Hunts, or Treasure Hunting. In this week’s pool we’d like to know what you would like to see in the game next. We’ve included some wild options that certainly at best have an outside shot ever making the game, but realism is not what we aim for in this poll.

Honestly, if they’re gonna insist on raising the IL with every mod, I’d like to see some sort of mechanism that can keep the old content relevant. Not sure how that would work though. It’s just sad to see good solid content become obsolete simply because it’s become too easy.

We can’t be asking for new classes while we complain about the lack of roles in the game… There’s 8 classes but you can only play either damage or buffs with the current meta. Out of the options listed on the poll I would say focusing on the foundry is the best bet for the dev team, it’s obvious they lack manpower to keep the community entertained so letting us alleviate some of that pressure would be smart.

I agree that it’s unfortunately that the healer and controller roles have been dead for years, and there’s no indication of them coming back. But tank is still alive, and I actually like that there are multiple types of buffer DPS classes. I think that’s better than 1 tank, 1 healer and 3 straight DPS.

I also agree that the foundry would help out a lot in the content creation aspect.

This won’t apply to everyone, but if you’re jaded about the buff/DPS meta, try out the new min-ilvl scaling + hardcore dungeon modes. The scaling is quite aggressive, and my (17-18k) guildies and I are having a lot of fun going back through the “easy” dungeons and trying to make it through, whether with a full party, no tanks, etc. Lower HP and 1-death-fail makes for some tense moments and, especially if you run without a tank, can really make old mechanics that have been ignore-able for a long time become relevant & scary again!

    DRUID! But properly done.

What is a “True Raid”, anyway? Like in Rust where you can trash people’s Stronghold and steal their stuff? Players who get killed can have their gear stolen? WTF?

I’ve seen this a lot, but what IS a Raid, anyway? And what is a “True” Raid? I thought Tiamat and Demogorgon were Raids.

tiamat and demogorgon are trials. Essentially they are 10 man skirmishes. A RAID requires coordination, they got close to that with tiamat but instead of needing to coordinate 5 teams, 1 team on each head we turned it into a zerg. Better development could have accomplished it.

A new class would be dumb, there are to many classes outside of the meta at the moment as is. Introducing a new class only pushes out another class unless they modify the gaming system to create role advantages giving each a niche.

Would love to see something meaningful done with foundry. Even if we could have some player created content that could serve as a trial that couldn’t be exploited (i.e. the rewards are fixed), ex. pay to enter, loot is distribution from entry fees. What if J0shi could build a contest where 5 man teams could compete for best time or highest number of cleared mobs, each team pays 25k to enter. Prizes awarded to top performers. The trick with foundry has always been that it has poor rewards and those rewards are often exploited.

    1) My priorities would be to separate the dps roles into ranged vs melee and single target vs aoe. Giving advantages/disadvantages to each. Taking that one step farther, would also be nice if types of damage had meaning. fire should impact ice, water should impact fire, clerics should get damage bonus against undead, warlocks should get additional cc control against undead.

    2) Implement diminishing returns, reduces power creep, and narrows the performance gap between players.

    3) Remove mark as a source of combat advantage. Make it about positioning or systems that would realistically provide combat advantage like smoke or blinding spells.

I don’t know know about separating dps roles. Right now the focus is on Single target and melee/melee-like, a.k.a. not an archer HR. This idea may push even more classes out of the meta, maybe?

not roles as in you must queue as X. roles as in a purpose in the group. Scenarios were ranged out performs melee or aoe out performs melee. Currently there is a disadvantage to being ranged (you miss out on buffs) and any character can aoe with a lightning enchant. We need some separation in how dpsrs function that adds value for having variety in team composition.

After seeing the how the new workshop works I could easily see them adding player housing and I would love to see this added. Also have a way to craft things for the homes would be nice.

-2°) Fix their attitude toward players.
-1°) Fix all shits that aren’t acceptable for a 2018 game.
    0°) Listen players.

I see no point in new class until the 4 buffer+1 dps meta exist…

-challenging dungeons, legendary/epic dungeons with better loot, challenging endgame pve content
-reducing power creep which allows to bypass dungeon mechanics
    -exterminating 4buffer+1 dps meta mercilessly
    -taking out power share
-reducing buffs, buff diminishing return; while true dps characters self dmg should be
increased so buffers won’t be needed that much
    -more raids
    -some love to pvp

I would love to see them fixing the netcode.
Perhaps its cause i come from a shooter and action game background. I started neverwinter because of its fighting mechanics and combat system.
So i want a better netcode to play it faster. I wanna dodge in the last millisecond, stack attacks precisely and i wanna attack while moving. I know the pace would go up, but thats what i would prefer. rubberbanding and package loss just sucks.
I know that this is what only a few would like but thats why i first started the game.

I feel like powershare should not be a thing. As it is guardians are never allowed to tank content anymore in favor of paladins. Healadins are rarely used due to powershare clerics which do more buffs with powershare too. I feel if they took out powershare, powers would be more important, old dungeons more challenging, and more classes viable.

I like them to nerf your class.

True clueless person commenting ;p, if you remove powershare from paladin. it will become unplayable. Its like sayingthat GWF deals too much dmg so take away their tab. as for GF ” never allowed to tank ” is just lol. Currently GF is by far the most flexible and overpowered class of them all, able to Tank, buff and dps on top level. GF is as much of a must have in a group as DC or OP is while being able to fill all 3 roles. As for you stating that devo pally not being used? well suprise for you since devo pally is BETTER then protection pally.
Just think for a sec, if you take powershare from pally, they are left with AoC as abuff and bane debuff, and that is it. its all they have. I wish powershare was nerfed to not work on companions, and DC/OP compensated for it greatly with more buffs in powers/feats tho. Since soon enaught people will run with 500k power…..

I want the devs to complete what they started in mod 15 around roles and class balancing. Once that is out of the way, continue with balancing the classes in mod 17. Come mod 18 I would like to see a new race and two or even three new classes added to the game.

I selected other. I would like the Gateway back, along with allowing external tools like the Auction House Data in the NWO:UN Toolbase to access game data.
