Enchantments Buy vs Make using more reagents than necessary

Post by xbutch » Fri Nov 04, 2016 13:53

Hi,

I'm trying to figure out how to use the tool and I noticed it includes the cost of more reagents than required for an upgrade.
As an example, to upgrade an enchantment from rank 5 to 6 it seems to consume 3 (or 2.5) Marks of Potency instead of 1.
Or for an upgrade from a R6 to a R7 it uses something like 6.7 Marks instead of just 2.

Is this because of the upgrade success rate?

Thanks

Yes, that's because of the success rate. 40% essentially means you succeed after 2.5 tries. So the tool calculates the cost based on 2.5 Marks for 5->6. From 6->7 it's (1/0.3)*2 = 6.666666.
