Neverwinter Botting Data
Neverwinter Botting has been a topic on this site and recently we tweaked our monitoring tools so that we are able to register auction house data about typical items that node-farming botters sell. Today we are able to present the first results.
Within the last seven days, a total of 30 sellers posted botted items worth 5,000,000 ADs or more for a grand total of over a billion Astral Diamonds. Most of the value was generated by Rank 5 Enchantments, but also by Unified Elements, Elemental Aggregate and rare Marks. The table below shows sellers, the amount of items auctioneered and the value in ADs.
Not sure how much 1M AD is going for nowaydays, but assuming 9$-10$ that’s 10,000$ created in one week. Actual numbers could be lower, because it’s impossible to record whether an item has actually been sold or was just reposted, but these are also only the top 30 sellers, so it should level out.

Its hard to say how i feel about botting.
On one hand, AD farmers are using it to get AD, and run a business by spamming us.
On the other hand think of what the prices on those items would be without botters, would PW increase drop rates if bots weren’t providing adequate supplies of these items? Would the increase in price on what i sell make up for the inflation?
What is amusing is people attribute botting to F2P gaming and yet it has a huge presence in all MMOs, Look at the recent mass ban in WoW as an example.
