Patch Note Parser: NW.105.20181022a.16
Neverwinter Uncensored’s patch note parser runs through any bigger patch notes and offers additional context to the changes that were made to the game. Today we are taking a closer look into version “NW.105.20181022a.16“.
In today’s patch the devs continue fixing the bugs and inconsistencies that made it to the live server during the “Heart of Fire” launch. Many Workshop related things are getting adjusted once again. First and foremost we cross our fingers that now finally nobody should get stuck during the introductory quest line any longer. There’s nothing more annoying than not being able to play the game.
The second key area remains the Acquisitions Incorporated campaign. We’re not sure what’s up with “Re-Retrieval Operation”, which still doesn’t resolve properly, but at least there’s now another way of getting you to the Weekly Haul by repeating “Basement Investigation”. This should hopefully also help players that are unable to reach the campaign currency cap on the first week.
These fixes to low-level quests in the Neverdeath Graveyard zone might not seem like a huge issue. Since a lot of new players are naturally coming in for a new module however, it’s bad timing. Especially since the quests resolve the area and are a major part of the overall story line.
Another notable fix is the one to the premium campaign companion Wiggins. It now finally gives bonus Acorns. This to be honest might sound like a minor issue, but that’s a 2,500 ZEN buy’s main feature not working at all. As putzboy noted in one of the threads reporting the issue, the devs should really have taken the companion down as long as it wasn’t of any use.
Deactivating a broken system that works in favor of players (IG XP farm) within hours is no biggie. But then you let the community buy a broken pet off the ZEN Market for days? That doesn’t look too good. At least Lead Designer Thomas Foss posted in a bug thread that you can inquire customer support about the possibility of getting the Acorns you’re missing.
Is the skirmish now back for good? We’ll see, can’t be too sure these days…
Both come with new rewards that we have previewed here.
Neverwinter UN:Blogged is always looking for writers to contribute to the blog. If you are an active player and search for a way to spread your opinions, analysis, diaries or reviews to more than 75,000 regular visitors, then don’t hesitate and get in touch with us on our contact page or message board! We are currently especially looking for console and PVP content, but that’s not exclusive. There is no frequency requirement, you post how often you want.
So removing the bronze success tier from IG, does that defeat the point of IGs tiered reward system?
No, they’re not removing it. Each IG section is made up of 3 sections and each of those sections has 2 waves, with just completing the first wave you got the bronze and you could get out. Now you have to complete the first section to receive the bronze.
Someone told me this morning that I should do the AI weekly before the patch, as the size of the currency drop will be getting nerfed. I didn’t have time, so it’s too late now!
I was surprised at how much of this mod went live in a bugged out state, even by Neverwinter standards. And the number of “Known Issues” listed is quite large.
That companion, though… PWE really do not seem to care how bad their reputation gets. Putz was totally correct, they should never sell anything they know is not working.
But I would never buy one of those currency-gathering companions. I think they are the biggest rip-off I’ve ever seen. Well, maybe if I won €140,000,000 on the lottery…
🙂
