Playstation 4 Release to be Announced Today?

Today could be a huge date for Dungeons and Dragons as well as Neverwinter players. Wizards of the Coast is teaming up with Meltdown Comics in L.A. to unveil new products during a live stream in which comedians will play through a brand new story. The show includes interviews with Chris Perkins, which should be well known by now due to the Day of the Dungeon Master event, and Cryptic executive producer Rob Overmeyer.

The devs already announced that Rob will share “exciting news” on the stage and while the most obvious guess is a new Module that aligns with the presented story line, a Playstation 4 release could make sense as well. We’ve already reported that PS4 strings have made it into the game and the latest patch on the preview server contains a “Ps4 Launch Event”.

It’s impossible to judge the state of the development from the PC files (just like Xbox the PS4 version will have its own branch of course), but a launch event sounds promising. The actual release could be months away though. The included launch event doesn’t mean it’s right around the corner, just that this particular piece of work has been finalized and will be included in the next build. The only way to find out is to tune in tonight at 4PM PDT.
