This Content Is Not Official and Is Not Supported by PWE (A Farewell of Sorts)

Sup fellas! First of all, let me say sorry that the blog and the site have been silent for the last couple weeks without an apparent reason. Sometimes life moves fast, and that has certainly been the case for me lately. Many reached out through different channels and tried to figure out what the heck is going on, and today I’m finally able to write something up.

Unfortunately, the announcement I have to make might not be what you’d like to hear. Effective immediately, I won’t be able to maintain Uncensored any longer. I’m moving on to a new chapter in my life, personally and professionally, which is too demanding and important for me to write articles every day, play the game, and code for the site. I was very conflicted because I love the project, but it’s simply not something I cannot do. I guess that’s part of growing up.

I will write up some more stuff about what’s going to happen with the site in the coming days. I don’t plan to take it down entirely, just some aspects won’t be updated as frequently, or at all. The most obvious casualty is the blog, where I’ve written up 95% of the posts myself. I do however plan to keep the Toolbase updated as best as possible and have the board and Discord open for those that value Uncensored as alternative, non-official, and fully independent discussion platform.

I also plan to publish a more extensive farewell. But for now, this should just serve as an announcement so you guys know what’s going on. Let me just say that the last four years covering the game have been an absolute blast. Uncensored was my first major “hit” in the interwebs and will always be more than a project in my résumé. How it has grown to 100,000 freaking users per months from scratch is just insane. And what I’ve learned in web development, community management, and other aspects is invaluable.

Thanks for this incredible journey, which now unfortunately has to end.

j0Shi plays the Neverwinter MMORPG since the open BETA in 2013 and is a regular contributor to the blog and the whole UN:Project. Originally a Guardian Fighter, he has built up ALTs of all classes and plays on BIS/near-BIS level.

Good luck in your new endeavors and thanks for all the effort you put into NWO.

  • February 5, 2019 at 10:46 am

You’ve done a great thing for this community over the years, I’d say I’m sad to see you go but if it’s for a good reason then good for you man, I wish you all the best 🙂

  • February 5, 2019 at 10:54 am

Good Luck. You spent far more time on this than anyone could have expected. And generally, I think it’s been very good for the game. … Best wishes for the future.

  • February 5, 2019 at 12:20 pm

I’m a lurker here, but I would come to this site daily and alot of time multiple time per day.
I just want to thank you for all your efforts that you put into this site, and to bring the latest in news and insights into Neverwinter.
Best of luck to you in your future endeavors.

  • February 5, 2019 at 1:11 pm

Thanks for all that you’ve done! Best wishes!

  • February 5, 2019 at 2:18 pm

You’re the absolute bomb j0shi and you will be missed… Thank you so much for being an awesome asset to the NW Community at large, and I hope you’re still social! #MakeCocktailsNotWar

  • February 5, 2019 at 2:19 pm

You are a god Joshi, all the luck for you in life.

  • February 5, 2019 at 2:32 pm

You’re really one of the last if not THE last serious page producer for NW. Its a real loss to the game.

I would suggest/hope that you could find your way to delegating the work to some of your trusted contributors. You’ve made the bones of this great site, let others do the heavy lifting while you no longer have time.

  • February 5, 2019 at 2:41 pm

Good day! I would like to “Thank you” for all the hard work and time you put into make NW’s community great! I like many of your fans have used this for a long time and find it heartbreaking to see you go. The community has taken a hit in the last year and seems to continue. I and many of your fans wish you the best! NW will never be the same!! Just as the post before me stated your are the last site that has been devoted to this game! Fair winds and following sea my friend!!

  • February 5, 2019 at 3:56 pm

Congratulations on the positive changes in your life. Thank you for all you’ve done with this project. I hope that as your life returns to normal you’ll find the time to periodically post again. I always appreciated your experienced perspective. Best wishes.

  • February 5, 2019 at 4:10 pm

Congrats on the changes, they can come fast.

Someone wise once told me the key to happiness is to embrace all of life’s phases as they come, and not try to cling on to the ones that you are moving past. I hope this next phase is also a great one for you.

  • February 5, 2019 at 4:54 pm

Thank you for help me and all people. Good luck with your future bro ?

  • February 5, 2019 at 5:19 pm

Congratulations on the new job. Sorry that NWO is seeing its end. Like many, I learned so much here, and this place was practically the only major non-Cryptic hub of info that the NWO community could get information out of. Hopefully, the Uncensored Reddit will still stay alive … ?

  • February 5, 2019 at 7:39 pm

Man, j0shi, that sucks. I wondered what was up as the forum always said it was updating the Tool Base for Mod 15. But Real Life Matters.

Congratulations on your new job, I hope you will be able to pop by now and then, once you get settled in. But a new job needs Full Focus, I know how it is.

So Long, and Thanks for all the Tips!

  • February 5, 2019 at 8:14 pm

I would like to start by wishing you luck in your new endeavor. Like many here, we will miss the content of the site that always helped those seeking information for their in-game development. Thank you in advance for being one of the thousands of readers of the content reproduced here.

  • February 5, 2019 at 8:34 pm

j0Shi is a true VIP of neverwinter and the game will not be the same without this site staying active. Wishes of good luck in his future endeavors:P

  • February 5, 2019 at 9:24 pm

so long and thanks for all the fish

  • February 6, 2019 at 12:21 am

Thank you for everything ? I’ve learned so much from here and I will miss the site alot.

    All the best

  • February 6, 2019 at 1:20 am

Will miss you yo. I’m glad your moving on up in life as that is more important than the game itself, still I’m grateful for all you’ve done and wish you well.

  • February 6, 2019 at 2:39 am

Well this sucks, but best of luck to you in the future

  • February 6, 2019 at 3:14 am

Thank you for all your hard work and the help. Wish you the best!

  • February 6, 2019 at 4:59 am

Very sad to see you go. This site certainly added a lot to my gaming experience. However, life does indeed keep moving and you have to move with it! Thank you for all of your hard work for the community. I hope someone can fill the space that you created. Good luck in your next life!

  • February 6, 2019 at 7:03 am

Thanks for the hard work in all these years! 🙂

    I can’t say I am not said.
You were better than any streamers.
You brought us valuable information daily which can be reached fast!
You saved me hundreds of hours avoid reading QQ rich forums.

    Good luck!

  • February 6, 2019 at 7:10 am

Good luck with your new(?) life!
With how Uncensored managed to grow and live, I’ve no fear you will find success!

  • February 6, 2019 at 7:44 am

Cya Joshi. Thanks for all the useful articles and good luck in your future endeavors.

  • February 6, 2019 at 8:00 am

    Good Luck!
As others have mentioned, its sad to see you go and the basic reason why this site did so well, still remains true today, the obfuscation at the official forums, their terrible communication and overall lack of foresight, temperament and knowledge on how to deal with players.

They simply cannot handle it, this site grew out of the desperation of players to communicate with each others and discuss the actual game.

With it gone, it does leave a area of massive concern as to who it happens in the future.

Sadly, official forums will never change, their overall TOS and strict enforcement’s, will never allow players to actually discuss the game.

    Long live the Unhamstered.

  • February 6, 2019 at 9:17 am

I was wondering why the forums were down, but now I understand why. Consequently, I haven’t been on the forums much, as they’ve kinda grown stagnant, especially after MinMax left. If you need help with articles, you can ask and if it comes down to it, I’ll talk to my wife and see if we can’t host the site on our web server, if you want to keep it up. I’m not the developer, though. That’s her side, so I’d have to find out if she’s even willing to do it. XD

  • February 6, 2019 at 10:01 am

Good luck with your new job and life. Will miss the blog, the few places to get truly uncensored opinions on the game.

  • February 6, 2019 at 2:36 pm

Your site is really the only site for news on the game. Is there anyway you can outsource some of the work and keep it running?

  • February 6, 2019 at 5:07 pm

Good luck bud that’s for the great tips!

  • February 6, 2019 at 7:06 pm

We’ll miss u, thank you for your job and good luck in your new journeys.

  • February 6, 2019 at 8:27 pm

Hey joshi thanks for all your hard work .. I do hope that you leave … the HOW to do this campaign pages up …as i use this site to help our fresh 70’s progress … as there is SO much good info here …:)

  • February 6, 2019 at 9:39 pm

Thank you j0shi for your work and effort over all these years, we have learned a lot with this site. I wish you the best.

  • February 7, 2019 at 4:13 am

Thanks j0shi for your work all these years. Definitely it has been the best neverwinter site in the net. It was extremely helpful this website. Best of luck in whatever you will be focusing your path now. However, we have to say that it is sad to see this site to go away and slowly die. But thanks for everything ?

  • February 7, 2019 at 10:26 am

Truly sad to hear about this, but IRL comes first and I hope you find success in anything you pursue. Your service to this game cannot be quantified.

    • February 9, 2019 at 10:07 pm

“Your service to the game cannot be quantified” says it all.

Neverwinter player community would have NO unfiltered voice if it weren’t for J0shi.
Leave it to an equally memorable NW hero like KG to sum things up so perfectly.

  • February 8, 2019 at 3:09 am

I wish you all the best! Even after leaving NW, I like coming back to this site. Thank you for all your work and dedication.

  • February 8, 2019 at 6:53 am

Seriously, thank you for being the engine behind this platform. Since I found it awhile back it’s provided an extra level of depth to my knowledge of the game.

It’s also provided a really important sanity check on game weirdness, validating my experience with some of the ridiculous issues that crop up in-game.

As others have noted – I do wish you well in your new work, but I sure hope you can find a willing person or group to pass the baton to on this platform, so that the good work you’ve done continues to live on.

  • February 9, 2019 at 7:54 am

Thank you for everything you have done for NW, you will be missed a lot.

Good luck and all the best in the future!.

  • February 9, 2019 at 10:12 am

    Ty 4 the effort !

  • February 9, 2019 at 12:24 pm

Your job on NWO:UN was such an immense contribution to the community that it’s sad to see you won’t continue.
But life goes on as you said, and if this new IRL path you’re taking is better for you, then I’m happy for you.
Your work on the blog has been insane, helpful for so many people, that’s something to be really proud of.

So best of luck on your future life, and thanks eternally, as a part of the NW playerbase, for your work here.

  • February 9, 2019 at 10:17 pm

Been playing NW since 2013 (with a 4 month “fuck this game” hiatus like many of us have taken).
No single player has influenced my enjoyment of this game more then J0shi.

You gave us an unfiltered voice.
You empowered us to stand up to The Man when we felt ignored, abused or muzzled.
Sad to see you go, but you absolutely deserve to move on with your life.

This does not have to be the end of NW:U.
There are many of us who can step in and pick up the NW:U flag.

J0shi, can we have some sort of election process, maybe on Discord or here, to appoint a new “Editor in Chief”, and Moderators of NW:U Blog, Forum, Tools, Series, Guides and Discord?

There is no reason that NW:U has to die.

The greatest honor we can all show J0shi is to keep his creation alive.

  • February 9, 2019 at 10:41 pm

    Thank you J0Shi.
Let’s just hold an election for a new NW:U Editor in Chief and get donations to fund it. I would gladly pay to keep NW:U alive.

NW:U does not have to die.

If you honor J0Shi, volunteer your time and keep NW:U alive!

  • February 10, 2019 at 4:30 pm

God speed, you will be missed.

  • February 10, 2019 at 5:22 pm

Hello, sad to see you go but if you want Master, Julia and I would be willing to keep the site running, what do you say?

  • February 10, 2019 at 7:47 pm

Awwww man….I was having a bad day and now just saw this…..think I’l just go get drunk.

Up until the last few weeks (am on vacation atm) I visit NWO-U religiously. Sad to see it go…..but completely understand.

I do hope you can work something out with someone to maintain the site.

I’m actually a wordpress developer myself, tho I work in the adult industry. Maintaining a site like this is a shit ton of work.

    Good luck in the future….

  • February 11, 2019 at 4:57 am

You have done a fantastic job and I am really sorry that you are moving on. Go with our thanks and good wishes

  • February 12, 2019 at 2:08 am

Sorry for us to hear you going away, but happy for you in the same time. ?
Thanks for everything you did, you were the best community manager Neverwinter never paid. ?

  • February 13, 2019 at 1:48 am

Thanks for all your work, you are Sir, Invaluable asset presumably forever lost.

  • February 13, 2019 at 11:39 am

Thank you for all of the hard work you have done.

  • February 17, 2019 at 11:01 am

You were a source of honest information, the best resource in Neverwinter. I hope you do well in your future.

  • February 18, 2019 at 5:34 pm

Thanks a lot , Sir j0shi. My life at NW changer for better after I discovered NWO. My best wishes for your new path.

  • February 19, 2019 at 8:21 am

I’m sad to hear this, but happy for you that your life is filling out so much there is no time for this. Thank you for all the information over the last few years. I hope someone picks up the reins, this has been an invaluable resource.

  • February 19, 2019 at 9:12 am

Thanks for supporting by far the best Neverwinter site on the web for so long, much appreciated and all the best with your new ventures ?

  • February 19, 2019 at 9:14 am

Same here, thank you for your super articles which helped me a lot when I was upping my char.
    Good luck 😉

  • February 20, 2019 at 6:49 am

I have a feeling that the site owner got mod 16 information early 😉 Good luck!

  • February 21, 2019 at 8:12 am

So sorry to hear this! What a major loss for NW players, and in fact for the game in general. Cryptic doesn’t know or appreciate how important you are for the game. I wish you the best of luck in your RL j0Shi, and hope the changes are good ones. You will be missed, and I hope you can come back and write some stuff for us every now and then! 🙂

    • February 21, 2019 at 8:13 am

Actually got a little teary-eyed, but I’m at work so… suck it up Shadrak! 🙂

  • February 22, 2019 at 11:41 pm

Can you leave forum open, this was great communication tool for unhamstered talk 😉 thanks for all your hard work mate and best of luck wherever you are going to go 🙂

  • February 24, 2019 at 5:23 am

Guess neverwinter returns to being Neverwinter: Exploits Online with out it’s watchdog

  • March 1, 2019 at 2:53 pm

So is it back up? Seeing comments implying it is but a formal post might be useful. Is it permanent, temporary or are we just getting a few posts here and there before the end?

  • March 4, 2019 at 12:21 am

Damn, I will now have to crawl the Neverwinter Forums again, and maybe experience the Discord horror. Oh well, all good things come to an end. Take care!
