The Hunt system in Ravenloft will receive significant tweaks and other than the name won’t have too many similarities with its counterparts of Module 12 and 13. So it makes sense to retire the old Hunts with a poll touching on an aspect that we haven’t talked about a lot on the blog. In the Lost City of Omu there are basically two ways of how to approach trophy farming. You can either kill and “refresh” the mobs yourself until rare mobs spawn, or hop instances, quickly check all spawn locations and take down the rare mobs that are present. The latter is often referred to as “thieving” since you depend on other players to refresh the mobs for you.
Both approaches have distinct pros and cons. Farming yourself let’s you time your route and normally be more efficient, but on the relatively small Omu map it can happen that others get to “your” rare mobs before you. Either because they randomly pass by or are thieving. Thieves in the meantime aren’t guaranteed to encounter any rare mobs at all, and often miss out on the more coveted trophies. Which leads us to this week’s poll: Are you a farmer or a thief? What method of getting your trophies do you prefer?
Share your opinion by taking part in our poll! You can also detail your thoughts on our social channels, in the comments below, or the corresponding thread on our message board! Also, here are the results of last week’s poll, in which we wanted to know how many Bountys you’ve farmed during this year’s Jubilee.
