Gift Of Tymora Event Review

For the fourth time in Neverwinter Tymora has decided to bless brave adventurers and deliver the Gift of Tymora from slain mobs, which drops as frequent as regular lockboxes. The first installment of the event was a true AD-fest, because the Gifts used to drop 10,000 Astral Diamonds, but subsequent editions were nerfed. Since the devs passed on tweaking the event, it continues to fade in relevance as both the Crown as well as the Coin are already wide spread and mainly resold. Right now they can better be bought than farmed. A year ago, the Coin peaked at 500k and the Crown at 40k and the current prices represent the downfall of the event pretty good.

Tymora’s Gift

To be clear: It’s still a nice event, but it’s absolutely no longer worth to farm it. Playing mainly with my lowbie on its task to reach 70, I collected about 100 Gifts, got a few ADs, profession resources (even one Unified Element), the Gift and the Crown. I kept everything although the 400 stat bonus is not as significant under the current stat curves as it once was. Not sure what to do with the Crown to be honest. It has never been one of my favorites. I also equipped the Tymora Enchants, but soon realized the drops are not really viable for characters at or close to 70. The ability to drop level appropriate green equipment can however help players that level up. The Enchantments are relatively cheap during the event and and investment under 10k will land you about 5% chance, which should be enough to frequently refresh gear during the leveling process. Players with normal game sessions that log on each day of the event should also be able to get the Event Mount. I wasn’t because I have no time to log today or tomorrow and sit at 18 Favors right now.

Overall the event could need a boost. It has lost ground especially to those events that already have been reworked. It probably doesn’t even get players to log in more than usual, which we know is the main incentive for Cryptic to run this stuff.
