Go Fill out the Neverwinter Player Interaction Survey

With this post we want to promote an interesting player-created survey that was presented to us. The “Neverwinter Player Interaction Survey” aims to collect data on how players like to interact with the game and other players. It asks for your experience level and playtime before working through a big list of interests to choose from and rate. It’s really simple and we would appreciate it if you took the time to fill out the survey. No account-sensitive data needs to be shared, it’s fully anonymous, and hosted on Google Docs. So all you need to do is spare a couple minutes and work through the three questions. It is our understanding that the results will be evaluated and presented at some point. Among other things, this could give a clue about what activities players like the most in the game.

Neverwinter UN:Blogged is always looking for writers to contribute to the blog. If you are an active player and search for a way to spread your opinions, analysis, diaries or reviews to more than 40,000 regular visitors, then don’t hesitate and get in touch with us on our contact page or message board! We are currently especially looking for console and PVP content, but that’s not exclusive. There is no frequency requirement, you post how often you want.

BAD survey. Very Bad, Terrible design. “I LIVE FOR THIS!”, instead of “VERY INTERESTED”?

    What an absolute, utter Crock.

And although I spend an enormous amount of time on occasion helping new and returning players, answering their questions, sending them in-game mails of tips of what to do with their level 60 characters given the changes since Mod 3 or 4, how to get better gear etc, I am VERY INTERESTED in text chat interactions and always answer people’s questions. I do not LIVE for helping other players.

I DO NOT “LIVE” for anything in Neverwinter.

I AM, however, UNINTERESTED, QUITE INTERESTED or VERY INTERESTED.

So it’s got inaccurate data from me, because I had to select “I CAN PARTICIPATE” in all cases, which sounds like a grudging reluctance, when what I wanted to say was QUITE INTERESTED or VERY INTERESTED.

But I will absolutely not say “I LIVE FOR THIS!”

If someone is going to do a damned survey, do it right. What am I, an autistic 12 year old? And what kind of buffoon designed that thing? Whoever it was, please contact them and show them how to do it properly.

How many hours do you play? Where’s the categories for

    1-2
    2-4
    4-6
    6-8
    8-12
    12-16
    16+

like, we all know people who spam events for 20 hours at a time.

    Rubbish survey.

this kind of response pretty well summarizes the main issue w/ the player base. Angry, spoiled children (of any age) crucify anyone for any minor thing. And, like any spoiled child, will simply combust at the slightest criticism, even if entirely reasonable and obvious. I really miss being able to solo run for AD, as the unreasonable, entitled, and angry players are so common.

The response might be extreme, but the point is valid. The survey is not well designed to actually get good data. Good intension, poor execution.

I wouldn’t have used those exact words, but an adjective-filled scale actually isn’t highly discriminating. Emotionally charged scales are. Don’t believe me, consider the typical “satisfaction scale” that runs from “very unsatisfied” through “very satisfied.” I’m sure you rate your significant other at the top of the scale. Now, go tell him/her, “Honey, I’m very satisfied with you.”
